Planted in His Presence
“Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.” – Psalm 92.13
One thing you can never do is become something greater than what God has called you to be. You can become something lesser, or if you yield your life to Him, you can become everything He has destined you to be – but the one thing you can never do is aspire to be something greater than what He has planned for you, because His ways will always exceed yours, and His goodness will always surpass everything for which you could ever hope. His goodness and mercy are limitless and endure forever. ( Isaiah 55.8-11/Ephesians 3.20)
Things that please God
“And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.” – I John 3.22
What pleases God?
. Our prosperity – Ps. 35.27
. Our faith (believing that He is good) – Heb. 11.6, 10.38 / Ps. 147.11
. Our redemption / salvation – Isa. 53.10
. Our obedience / pleasing God rather than men – Micah 6.7-8 / I Thess. 2.4
. Walking in the Spirit – Romans 8.8-10 (walking in the flesh cannot please God)
. Giving us the Kingdom – Luke 12.32
. Our giving – Hebrews 13.16
Taking a closer look at this list, it all really condenses into the first two categories – our prosperity and our faith. An absence of either of these in our life is not pleasing to the heart of the Father.
Prosperity is wholeness, total fulfillment and total satisfaction in every sphere and facet of life.
And faith, believing in the goodness of God and in His desire to bless you and fill you with that goodness – That is what’s pleasing to the Father’s Heart.
The thing that God dropped into my heart for you and me in this day in which we’re now living is – It is time to FLOURISH!
There is no doubt about it. If you are wandering what God wants for your life, it is this – He wants you to FLOURISH. In the opening scripture, Ps. 92.13, it is stated that those who are planted in the house of the Lord will flourish in the courts of our God. We flourish when we’re planted in the Lord’s house, or perhaps better stated, when we are planted in His Presence.
Since we know that it is God’s will for us to flourish, it is very vital that we give all diligence to planting ourselves in His presence and refuse to leave it no matter what – then we will not only flourish in every area of our life, but we will truly be pleasing God’s heart.
Psalm 92.15 of the New Living Translation says that as we flourish, our very lives will declare “The Lord is just! He is my Rock! There is nothing but goodness in Him!”
It has never been the will of God for His people to live fruitless, barren, unproductive lives. His one desire is that we all out FLOURISH and THRIVE in every single area of life – not one detail left out. It is displeasing to Him if we do not. It is not that He is condemning us for not yet attaining to that level of life – but it is displeasing to His heart for His people to ever lack any good thing, because all He has ever wanted is for us to experience His best.
He takes pleasure in the prosperity of His people. He takes pleasure in us experiencing the very best and highest form of life He has created for us to live.
Hebrews 11.6 says that without faith it is impossible to please Him. There is no way around it, no alternative. Without faith you cannot please the Father’s Heart. The reason why is, as the verse goes on to say, the one who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. In other words, we must believe that He will make us to flourish when we are planted in His presence.
That is what diligently seeking Him is – being rooted in the presence of God.
It is the same thing Jesus was teaching His disciples in the 15th chapter of John. When we abide in Him and His words abide in us, then we can ask what we desire, and it shall be done for us. And He said, “By this My father is GLORIFIED, that you bear MUCH FRUIT.”
He is talking about flourishing! Abiding in Him and His words abiding in us is being planted in His presence. Then we can ask what ever we desire and it will be fulfilled. God will be glorified and we will bear much fruit – we will FLOURISH! We must become securely planted in His presence and we must live by faith. It is not an option.
Hebrews 10.38 says that “ the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”
Those have always been chilling words to me. I do not want the Father to have to say about me “ My soul has no pleasure in you”. And I do not believe you want that to be said about you either. Verse 39 says “But we are not of them who draw back….but of them who BELIEVE….”
Thank God! We are Believers! We will not draw back. We will live by faith. We will stay planted in His Presence and grow in our trust of His Love and goodness for us – believing that He is and that He gives all good things to those who abide in Him.
The wonderful thing about the Presence of God is the complete absence of all that is impure and unholy. It is the very epicenter of holiness and love in its purest form. And, consequently, it is the origin of Life itself. So when we are planted in His Presence, we are plugged into the source of total and absolute fulfillment – LIFE, Zoë, to its most infinite power.
That is why the result of being planted in the presence of the Lord is FLOURISHING in the courts of our God. It is spiritual law.
The most essential elements to being planted in His presence is continual communion with the Father through praise, prayer, and meditating His Word – all of which can be done anytime, anywhere, while doing anything.
Once we make the decision to be permanently PLANTED in the presence of God and begin fervently hungering after it, then it is utterly amazing how the Holy Spirit can make a way, in the midst of whatever we are doing, to lock into that precious heart to heart communion with the Father, and through His grace to maintain continual, unbroken fellowship with Him.
That is the joy of abiding. Not only is the experience wonderful in itself, but we also have the extra benefit of experiencing fruitfulness in every other area of our life as well.
Truly, those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.
That is God’s desire and His destiny for you. You are destined to FLOURISH now and eternally.
Enjoy being PLANTED in His Presence.
