FAITHFUL.
That is what God is. In a
world that is constantly changing and evolving, He is the only thing that remains absolutely dependable. In
the face of unpredictable circumstances, broken agreements, and the ever-changing variables of life – you can stake
your life on one thing: God is Faithful – and He will never change.
“I Am the Lord, I do not change….”
-Malachi 3.6
He
is a man of His Word and His faithfulness to that Word can be counted on – always. “God is
not a man, that He should lie. Nor a son of man, that He should repent (or change). Has
He said, and will He not do. Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” – Numbers
23.19
If
God said something, you can count on its authenticity and His commitment to make it good. God speaks no
idle words. Every word that He speaks is with purpose and backed with His almighty power.
When there are some things in your life that
need changing, you can count on the faithfulness of His Word to accomplish it. “….So shall
My Word be that goes forth out of My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what
I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” –
Isaiah 55.11
I
have known times in my life when I was believing God for something, that it seemed like life was so full of a lot of variables.
Whenever I would consider those variables, my faith would just collapse, and the thing I was believing for would seem
impossible to ever get.
It
was at that time that the Lord stirred up James 1.17 in my spirit:
“Every good gift and every perfect gift
is from above, and comes down from the Father of Lights, with whom there
is no variableness neither shadow of turning.”
With God there are no variables! Every promise of God comes with a condition
that must first be met in order to obtain what is promised (for example: you must maintain love and forgiveness
in your heart in order to receive your healing or get your prayers answered). There are conditions,
but there are no variables.
So whatever represents a variable in your life, whatever lack or circumstances are telling you “You
can’t have this promise of God because of all this….” or “ You could have this
you are believing for if only all this other were settled.”
No. Those variables don’t count. Because all they are
designed by the enemy to do is to get your focus on them and off of God’s Word. God only requires
that we meet the conditions and believe His Word – He will take care of the variables.
As long as you stay right before God, and allow Him
to change you and continually correct any error in your life – nothing can keep you from receiving what you are believing
for according to His Word.
Every
good and perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father – Who does not change and never
varies! “God is faithful, by Whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ
our Lord.” – I Cor. 1.9
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, For He Who promised is faithful.”
- Hebrews 10.23
This
is our confidence. We can hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering or doubting, because God
and His Word are Faithful and completely reliable. As long as we hold fast and believe His Word, victory
is a sure thing. I Thessalonians 5.24 says “He Who calls you faithful, Who also will do it.”
God is committed
to you and committed to fulfilling His Word in your life. Don’t ever allow yourself to think otherwise.
Set your trust on Him. Because it is your faith that connects you to His faithfulness
to fulfill His Word in your life.
God Himself has said, “ I will not in any way fail you nor forsake you nor
give you up nor leave you without support. I will not, I will not, I will not, in any degree leave you
helpless nor forsake nor let you down (relax My hold on you)! Assuredly not!”
– Hebrews 13.5 (AMP)
He is committed, He is devoted, and He is faithful to His people in every way. Even
when we miss it or give in to temptation, His faithfulness doesn’t end there.
Hebrews 2.17-18 says “ Therefore,
in all things He (Jesus) had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things
pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered
temptation, He is able to aid those who are tempted.”
And in I John 1.9 He says that “If we confess our sins, He is faithful
and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness!”
There is not one area of our
lives that we can point to and say “God, You weren’t faithful to me there.” NO.
If something went wrong, He was not the perpetrator of it nor was He the one who shirked and backed away from your
situation. Satan would like us to think that there might be some areas in which God is un-faithful or leaves
us without any help or support. But that’s not what the Word says.
Being faithful is not just something God does –
or else He could pick it up and lay it down as He chooses.
Faithful is Who He IS!
In Revelation 19.11 the Apostle John wrote – “Now
I saw heaven open, and behold, a white horse. And He Who sat on him was called FAITHFUL and TRUE.”
Because FAITHFUL is Who He is and not just
what He does, we can be absolutely sure that He will be faithful to us at all times, everywhere, and in whatever circumstances
we face. In light of that, it is so important to stay tender before Him and deeply grateful for this faithfulness
every day, letting praises flow forth from your heart continually.
“But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be
with him, and in My Name his horn shall be exalted. Nevertheless, My loving-kindness I will not utterly
take from him, nor allow My faithfulness to fail.” – Psalm 89.24,33
FAITHFUL is one of the most beautiful words I know
to call our precious Heavenly Father. He is so faithful. Those verses are proof of it.
I pray that the awareness of His faithfulness will sink deep into your heart, and that the beauty of it will touch
you in a way deeper than it ever has before. The Psalmist said, “
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your Name, O Most High; to
declare Your loving-kindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night.” (Psalm
92.1-2)
Lamentations 3.22-23 says,
“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning; Great is Your Faithfulness!”
He has given us His Word, He has given us His Name, He has given us His mercy, and He has given
us Himself.
And because He is a man of
His Word and that word is true….
We know that HE IS ALWAYS FAITHFUL!
