We are called to a life of FERVOUR.   The word fervent (or fervour )  is from the Greek word zéo: and zéo means to boil. You may be wondering what boiling has to do with you and me.  Well, it actually has a lot to do with us. 100° C  is known as the extra degree. At 99°C degrees water is Hot.  But at 100°C degrees it BOILS. Boiling water produces steam.  And steam can power a locomotive. 

You and I are called to live life to the extra degree.  We are in a spiritual relay race—and each generation should and must go further than the one preceding it, taking higher ground.  We are called to a higher place of purity, a higher place of faith, a higher place of revelation, a higher place of worship and of intimacy with God, a higher place of the   outpouring of the Glory of God in this earth and the greater works by His Spirit.  For you and me to get where God is calling us—we must run our race with ENDURANCE.  ENDURANCE is the extra degree.  

Yet endurance alone is not enough.  As we run our race with endurance, we must keep our eyes on JESUS—the author and finisher of our FAITH.  It is faith in Jesus that fuels the endurance we need to run this race.We were created to BELIEVE.  We were created to see the invisible and to do the impossible through faith in Jesus. Mark 9.23 says that nothing is impossible to him who BELIEVES.
