the Feast of Life

Imagine living every moment of your life in a place so full of everything that is good, so full of peace and joy, literally overflowing so much that it can’t possibly all be contained….

Well, there really is such a place. The amazing thing about it is, it’s a place that cannot be penetrated with evil or trouble.  There can be all kinds of storms raging all around – but when you’re in this place, you will only experience “great peace and undisturbed composure”.   [Isaiah 54.13 AMP]

You will see the storms, you’ll know about the trouble – but it will have no effect on you.  You will walk right through the “valley of the shadow of death” and yet never be touched by it –  Why?   Because you know God is with you – therefore there’s nothing to fear.

When you are established in this place, you will only know and experience abundant life.  Your life will grow and thrive, while the world struggles to merely survive.  So what is this place?  The place is God Himself  His manifest presence.

You will hear me talking about God’s presence a lot – and that’s because there’s just not any other place like it.

Impossibilities disappear like vapor in His presence…. Lack is consumed, trouble vanishes, and sin, fear and death are burned up like dross…. Most importantly, all the love and comfort you and I will ever need flows like a flood in His awesome presence.

Once I was telling the Lord that His presence is so precious to me and I love it so much – I want every other area of my life to be like my relationship with Him.  There’s no place that I feel so complete, so fulfilled, and so full of peace, as when I’m with Him in that holy intimacy.  What He said in response to me was that every other area of our life is supposed to be like that.

He has created us to live in His presence and to take it into every other sphere of life.  When God placed Adam in the Garden of Eden, He commanded him  to “be fruitful, multiply, and replenish the earth”.   What that command literally meant was for him to release the life-power of God in him and make the rest of the world look just like that Garden.  God gave him the authority, dominion, and power to make this planet a world-wide Garden of Eden!

Through Jesus, we also have, in the same way, been given the Anointing to make every area of our life literally like Heaven on earth.  This does not mean the end of all trials.  Jesus said as long as we’re on earth there will be tribulation     “but be of good cheer –  I HAVE  OVERCOME THE WORLD!”       John 16.33

In other words, there will continue to be trouble in the world and trouble that tries to come to our lives    but as long as we stay in Him    living in His presence, we can ride high above those storms of life!

The 23rd Psalm has always been one of my favourite chapters.  In essence, it really is the blueprint for living in God’s presence.  The last verse proves it – “And I will dwell in  the House of the Lord [In His Presence] forever.”

If you’ll live like what this Psalm says, the result will be that you will live forever in His presence….and experience all that it provides.  You will lack nothing!

“Even in the presence of my enemies – You spread the Feast of Life before me.”   (Ps.23.5 Sacred Words TM )

God’s intense desire is for you to live far over and above the mere average life-styles of the world, above every circumstance and trial.  In the midst of the enemies of your soul pursuing you, His will is not that you just receive comfort and peace of heart – as good as that is.  His burning desire is that you absolutely stride in the Feast of Life He has prepared for you.

And that Feast encompasses every sphere of life –  so you can bask in rich fulfillment in your spirit, in your mind, in your emotions, in relationships, in finances, in your body – literally feast on all the goodness of God.

Jesus said in John 10.10 –    “….I have come that they might have life and have it more abundantly.”

Not just abundantly….but more abundantly!  We must permit the Holy Spirit to unlock our thinking  to the vastness of the presence of God.  The universe is still expanding at the speed of light – and to our minds that is almost unthinkable.  And yet the presence of God is even so much more infinite than that.

Our Father’s heart yearns for us to seek out the fathomless depths of His Love.  There are undiscovered continents of spiritual living just waiting to be sought out.  In order to infect every area of our life with His manifest presence – we have to be desperate for it.

One has to come to the point of wanting the things of God badly enough  that they  can  no longer  live without it  in order to obtain it.   Hebrews 11.6  says that God is a “…Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

It is amazing to me that both of these words are used in this verse – because in the original Greek and Hebrew each of these words (just by themselves) are very intense.  But this verse uses them back to back – so the intensity is more than doubled.

With that in mind, this verse can actually mean –  God is a rewarder of those who are desperately intent on Him – so much that He has become their sole pursuit.  Chasing after anything else in life that intently, would not bring so great a reward.  But when you go all out for God  when your hunger is for Him and Him alone – He will be a rewarder to you.

There is no way you will be able to escape the tidal wave of all He has and all He is, flooding in upon your life – when you diligently seek Him.

This is His dream for you…  This is what He lives for –  to make you lie down in rich fulfillment – beyond anything you could ask or think.  His dream is for you to experience His manifest presence every moment of our life – in every area of your life – because that is Heaven on earth.

If  you  want  to experience  the reality of His dream in your life – I encourage you seek Him like you have never sought Him  before,  from your heart.  Even make a point to read out loud Romans 8 and Psalm23 to the Lord in prayer every day.  Those two chapters have continued to radically transform my life – and I believe they will do the same for you.

Most of all, as you continue to dwell in His Presence I believe you will truly know and experience
the Feast of Life itself.
